Getting Started
It seems like you are interested in playing. This section of the wiki will give vital information on how to get started!
When you first spawn in the "Survival" server of CoreByte, you are given two items.
1. A "Golden Shovel".
- The golden shovel is used to claim land to protect your base, valuable items, and prevent players & mobs from griefing you.
- However, to claim land, the minimum area is 100 blocks & you earn 100 claim blocks per hour in real time by playing on the server.
- Once the item breaks, or if you lose it upon death, a staff member or the server itself cannot give you another kit. You will have to craft a normal golden shovel to claim land again.
2. The Slimefun Guide Book
- The book is your main guide to advanced technology, programmable machines, and custom items.
- To unlock the items within the book, it is required to have XP to start unlocking useful items, resources, backpacks, OP Pickaxes, and so on!
- The book has its own official wiki resource page. Everything is unlockable through progression and enough XP.
Now that the starter is out of the way, here are the:
Top 5 Things You Should Do!
1. Use the command /rtp; it will teleport you within a 3,000 radius of pre-generated chunks.
- Find a place you'd like to build or gather resources immediately & protect yourself quickly before the night arrives.
2. Set your Home with the /sethome command. You have upto 5 sethomes by default. This can be purchased later in-game.
- You may also name your homes with /sethome <name>. Example: /sethome cave.
3. Once you have a home base setup, Next we need to claim the land as ours. Grab your Golden Shovel.
- From both corners in the wilderness, like a BOX, from Corner A to Corner B, you want to right-click both ends, and it will automatically make a Protected Claim.
- The claim is 100% protected. It cannot be griefed, nor can any items be stolen from players.
- The claim is also protected by Creepers, TNT, Lava & water flow.
- Do note that if you are inactive for one month, the claim will automatically be deleted by the system for inactivity.
4. After claiming your land, we will look into how to earn a Passive income.
- Type /jobs, A menu will pop up on your screen with the available jobs & select the job.
- Available jobs are: Woodcutter, Farmer, Hunter, Fisher, and Miner.
- Each job will offer different earnings, for example, from $0.5 to $3.
- You will earn money automatically by just playing.
- Tip: Jobs are your main source of income in the early game.
5. Now that you are earning passive income, let's look into where to spend that generous hard-work money!
5.1. To look at the CoreByte Market, use /shop
- It will open a menu, and multiple categories will show what the CoreByte Market has to offer to you:
- The shop contains useful categories like Player Upgrades, Land Expansion, Job Multipliers, and a Food Shop.
- Job Multipliers: This section is to increase your passive income by purchasing multipliers.
- Player Upgrades: Unlock permanent perks and useful quality-of-life features.
- Land Expansion: Purchase more bonus claim blocks if you want to claim a HUGE set of land.
> This is perfect if you are planning mob farms, a large storage room, or you want more land.
> You earn 100 claim blocks per hour in real-time, not in-game hours.
- Food Shop: Now we are talking... The food shop is necessary if you are low on supplies and urgently need food.
> Basic: Cheap food items if you really need them badly. The lowest price is $8 per Melon Slice.
> Cooked: Cooked items will cost at a higher price but provide enough to regenerate your health & hunger.
That's everything you need to know to get started here on CoreByte Survival!
The next part will be Early Game, which will explain further features & run your own business inside of CoreByte!
